First, here are 8 things that I LOVE about Isaac
1. He is so funny. This kids has the best one liners. He can be so deadpan serious and still crack us up with his jokes.
2. He is so cute when he tries to hide his happiness. When he is trying to prove to us that he is sad he can fight a smile better than anyone, but his eyes always give it away.
3. He is helpful. After I had my foot surgery he was the only kid who asked me what I needed on a regular basis. He also had no problem telling me how awful I looked.
4. He has the best laugh. It gets me every time.
5. He's smart. He wants to know everything about everything. He can ask questions forever. Last year when we were driving home from the cabin he was asking me a million questions about dinosaurs and fuel. How they were linked and then just tons of questions about oil. I finally told him, "Isaac, that is ALL I know about oil." In his perfect, deadpan, very honest way, he said, "I'll ask Dad. He's the one who knows stuff."
6. He is sweet. When I used to leave for work, and when I leave for school now, he always asks for a hug and then always kisses my hand. He's the only child that kisses my hand like that. I love it.
7. He is nice. Sometimes he is almost too nice, but this kid can get along with almost anyone. He thinks of others before himself.
8. He is self sufficient. He is happy to get himself food, make himself lunch and get himself ready. A few weeks ago I walked into the kitchen in the morning and found him making lunch to take to school. I usually have the kids buy lunch and he didn't want to buy lunch that day. So he got out all the supplies and made his own. At first I felt guilty, but then I decided to look at it as a positive. He doesn't have to rely on others for everything. Someday his wife will thank me that he knows how to make his own lunch.
I am just happy that this little boy is ours. I have been smitten with him since the very beginning. We were so proud of him two weekends ago when he was baptized. It was such a great day. I think, besides my own sweet memories of it, my favorite was what Elijah said later when we were talking about it. He said, "Mom, I almost cried at Isaac's baptism." I asked him why. He said, "Because I'm just so proud of him. I almost cried, but I kept myself under control." He may have, but I have to admit, I did have some quiet tears at this milestone. Here are some pictures from his special day.
I LOVE this picture of Isaac and Oma. My mom looks amazing. We were so glad she was there.
After the baptism, Jenny and her kids, Eve, Isaac and I, John and my mom when to Red Robin for dinner. Brian and Elijah weren't feeling great so they stayed at home. We had a blast!
Lucy, Eve and Ella were being so funny. I love this picture of them!
Here is a link to a cute video of the girls, and my wild daughter during dinner and a video of the RR gang singing to them.
We also have a cute video of all the kids playing Rockband. Trevor is just awesome on the microphone and Eve was the band dancer. She has some great moves!
And the kitties enjoyed the aftermath of gift opening. I think they will love Christmas! Plus, you can see that Swarley and Mosby have figured out their own "bro code." They are good friends now. We still miss our sweet London, but we are finding a lot of joy and love with Mosby.

And he is making himself right at home! I love how he laying on the couch!

I am getting so close to the end of the quarter. I have two tests tomorrow and a final on Tuesday and another next Thursday. I'm craving Spring Break like you would not believe. I can't wait to have some true homework free time, get my evenings back, even for a few weeks, and enjoy the break. My foot is doing really well. I go back to the Dr. on the 23rd and I might get my shoe off then. I would love that! I've gotten used to it, and I'm getting around really well, but I'm looking forward to wearing matching shoes again!
The night before Isaac's baptism he got to have a slumber party. He was so excited. I didn't take very many pictures, and the film I made of him blowing out his candles got deleted, but all the kids had so much fun!

I'm so glad we could be there for Isaac's baptism! He looked great in his tie... if only he would've worn the tie tack! :) Great pics and videos!
I know! I'm totally saving that tie tack for him. Someday he might change his mind about it...since he is a warrior!
